"WET AND WILD" LAUGAFELL
Highlights: Extreme snow action, Off-Road trailing, Goðafoss, Aldeyjarfoss spectacular mountain and glaciers views and natural hot spring bathing.
Why not to try the Icelandic way of winter Off-Roading with us and take a bathe in a natural hot spring in the highlands in the middle of the winter.
We will take you for an exciting off-roading experience in the snow, we will start by stopping at the beautiful waterfall Goðafoss. From there we will drive in the Bárðardalur valley and make a stop at the majestic Aldeyarfoss which is really a spectacular waterfall surrounded by impressive basalt columns. From here we will head in to the highlands taking the old national route over Sprengisandur to be able to reach the simple but very much welcomed mountain hut Laugafell, Laugafell is located only 15 km from Iceland’s second largest glacier Hofsjökull, and in Europe’s largest dessert Sprengisandur.
Once there you can take a bath in a natural pool in the middle of nowhere where the hot water comes right up from the ground. It's both extremely relaxing and energizing at the same time. You will most likely never try one like it.
After that we will drive up on a nearby mountain Laugafellshnjúkur (987m above sea level) to get a better view over the vast wilderness which surrounds Laugafell before heading back to civilization. Which way that will be exactly depends on snow and weather conditions.
Please note that because of the Extreme level of this tour and distance from civilization then for your safety we always use 2 Super Jeeps for this tour.
A great rewarding experience
